“No one has ever become poor by giving.” ― Anne Frank
I can still see my daughter’s face as I waved goodbye to her. Her expression of pride and joy is one that I will never forget.
I honestly believe this was the first time I saw that expression on her face directed towards me. I didn’t think I did much. I merely took time out of my day to read to her and her classmates.
Yet, to her, it was more than that. It was daddy giving her what no Elsa or Anna doll could ever give her. My time. She may not always express it, but I know that’s what matters the most. That I give of myself to her.
That’s what matters in life. That we give of ourselves.
Why should we hold back? Life is too short to live with regret.
Why should we wait until tomorrow? Life does not promise us the rising of a new day.
Everyone has something to give. However, not everyone gives because they fail to see the value in doing so.
Truth is: our life matters not because of what we get or have, but because of what we give.
If you don't have any idea what your personal life purpose is, realize this universal purpose: We all have a talent, gift, and our time, that if given and shared, can help someone in this world.
Our path will undoubtedly get clearer as we bring light to someone else. So, give. Don’t hold back today because you are needed.
What can you give today to someone without expecting anything back that will make his or her day brighter?
